The Pleasure of My Company by Steve Martin (2003)
Comedian, actor, and musician Steve Martin is best known as an author for his first novella, Shop Girl. The Pleasure of My Company, however, is a charming Coming-of-Age/awakening story from the point of view of Daniel, a socially isolated young man with OCD who, like Molly, discovers friends he didn’t know he had.
Holly by Stephen King (coming in 2023)
Holly Gibney is one of King’s favorite characters, a woman with OCD who first appears in King’s Bill Hodges Detective trilogy: Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, and End of Watch. She also appears in the novella If It Bleeds and the 2018 novel The Outsider.
Colombo
Molly and her grandmother’s favorite television detective show starred Peter Falk as Frank Columbo, a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. The show aired intermittently between 1968 and 2003 on NBC. The titular detective was distinctive for his rumpled appearance and distracted demeanor, which caused criminals to underestimate him. The pleasure of the show was in watching the detective slowly closing in on his prey.
